After the first day of classes, we took a tour of Salamanca.
On the facade of la Universidad de Salamanca, there is a skull with a frog on it. Legend says that if you see the frog without anyone helping you, you will pass your exams. If you aren't a student, if you see the frog, you will get married within the year. The frog represent foolishness, and the skull suggests that if you spend your time going after follish things, that is what will become of you.
¿Dónde está la rana?
On the side doors of the "Catedral Nueva" (New Cathedral, built in the 1700's), there are some odd carvings that were done when they restored the doorways in the 1970's.
